The Jamaica Bankers Association in collaboration with the Jamaica Institute of Financial Services will host the 8th Annual Anti-money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism Conference under the theme, “Compliance: Navigating the Digital Landscape”, October 8-9th at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, with a more intense Post-Conference Workshop on the topic:  “Onboarding & Monitoring High Risk Customers” on October 10th also at the Jamaica Pegasus.

The Conference targets Anti-money Laundering and Compliance professionals, members of the legislative community, Accountants, Auditors and Members of the Gaming and Real Estate Industries to name a few.   Changes in legislation as well as the impact of digitization on the delivery of financial services demands that Compliance Professionals are equipped with information and strategies to execute their responsibilities with the highest degree of efficacy.  The Conference will provide participants with sound and practical strategies to effectively safeguard clients, institutions and the country in general from money laundering and terrorism financing efforts, while maintaining internationally accepted standards. 

The keynote address will be delivered by the Minister of Finance & the Public Service, Doctor, the Honorable Nigel Clarke.  Online and local participants will also benefit from presentations by local and international experts on issues such as ‘Bribery, Corruption and the Link to Money Laundering; The Role of Compliance in Advancing Business Strategy; Terrorist Financing & Sanctions; The Impact of Digitization on Regulatory Environment’
